Please join us for the first in our series of Jews of Color & People of Color in the Reform Movement Affinity Space Gatherings. These gatherings will be led by and are specifically for Jews of Color and Jewish Adjacent People of Color (those of us who are People of Color and do not identify as Jewish, but are partnered with a Jewish person or part of a Jewish family).
Affinity spaces offer People of Color a safe space to have honest and open conversations. Affinity spaces can provide a space for People of Color to connect around their lived experiences, without having to comfort or teach white people about race & racism.
Our hosts for the calls are Yolanda Savage-Narva, Deitra Reiser and Evan Traylor, whose bios can be found here: https://urj.org/calendar/union-reform-judaism-jews-color-affinity-space
Please know that we understand People of Color are not a monolith, and that Black & Brown people are disproportionately affected by police brutality and other forms of systemic oppression. However for this call, we will be inviting all Jews of Color and Jewish Adjacent People of Color to participate. This particular affinity space is intended to be a warm and inclusive space for Jews and Jewish Adjacent individuals connected to the Reform Movement in anyway, from all genders, faiths, ages, sexualities, disabilities, varying socioeconomic backgrounds, and any other intersectional identity.
After completing this registration, you will receive a confirmation which will include your Zoom link. Please note that this specific gathering is for those who are 18 years and older. If you have any questions, please contact Aliza Greenberg at email@example.com.
