Within the registration below, you will notice that after the initial first session, Racial Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (REDI) 101, there will be two subsequent sessions in which we will use race-based affinity spaces (meaning for those participating in the Racial Justice Campaign, 2 sessions will be specifically for white people and 2 will be for People of Color). To read more about affinity spaces, please check out: https://tinyurl.com/ycdx5s7f
The three 90-minute live sessions, which will not be recorded, include:
Session 1: REDI 101 May 20, 2021, 8-9:30PM ET (for both People of Color and white people)
This session will help participants start building stronger communities and transform the ways in which our institutions create meaningful Jewish experiences for people of all backgrounds.
The following two sessions will be race-based affinity spaces. For white people attending the 3-part training, please note that the three sessions build upon each other and you must attend “REDI 101” prior to attending the second two sessions.
About Session 2 (May 27, 2021, 8-9:30PM ET) and Session 3 (June 3, 2021, 8-9:30PM ET):
• For People of Color: Those of us who are People of Color will come together to build a Kehilla Kedosha, A space for Leaders of Color in the Racial Justice Campaign. Come hear from nationally renowned speakers, connect with other POC's both Jewish and not, and restore yourselves in the community of others. Restore, Connect, & Rejuvenate.
• For white people: For those of us who are white, we must begin or continue to do the deep sacred work of looking within ourselves and communities and come to terms with how we benefit from the systems we are trying to dismantle throughout this campaign. These two sessions will help us deepen our commitment and our capacity to leverage our position as white antiracists in our effort to create multiracial communities where Jews of all backgrounds experience belonging.
