Book Launch: The Social Justice Torah Commentary
New from CCAR Press, The Social Justice Torah Commentary demonstrates that the Torah is a guide to addressing the most urgent challenges of our time. Contributors delve deeply into each Torah portion, drawing lessons to inspire tikkun olam (repairing the world). Chapters address such key contemporary issues as climate change, racism, gender equality, voting rights, and many more. This special event puts Rabbi Jonah Dov Pesner, Director of the RAC and Senior Vice President, Union for Reform Judaism, in conversation with the book’s editor, Rabbi Barry H. Block, and contributors, who will discuss how Torah lessons motivate their justice work with the RAC. Cosponsored by the Central Conference of American Rabbis and the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism.
